In This Guide

Match Winner

The simplest tennis bet — pick the winner of the match. No draws possible (matches must have a winner).

This is a pure two-way market, making it easier to assess value than three-way football markets.

Rankings give a baseline but current form, surface preference, and H2H record matter enormously.

Set Betting

Predict the exact score in sets (e.g., 2-0, 2-1 in best-of-3, or 3-1 in Grand Slams).

Set betting offers higher odds but requires more precise prediction.

Consider the players' tendency for tight sets vs dominant wins when evaluating set scores.

Total Games (Over/Under)

Bet on whether the total number of games in the match will be over or under a set line.

Big servers tend to push totals higher (more holds, more tiebreaks). Strong returners bring totals down.

Best-of-5 matches (Grand Slams) naturally have higher game totals than best-of-3.

Surface Matters

Grass: fastest surface, favours big servers. Points are shorter, breaks are rarer.

Clay: slowest surface, favours baseliners with heavy topspin. Rallies are longer, upsets more common.

Hard court: most neutral surface. Indoor hard plays faster than outdoor hard.

Key Tennis Stats for Betting

First serve percentage and first serve points won are the most important serving stats.

Return games won (break percentage) is the best indicator of return quality.

Head-to-head records are highly relevant in tennis — some players consistently struggle against certain styles.

Tip: Check player rankings and H2H records on the wagerbase tennis player database.

Live Tennis Betting

Tennis momentum shifts are dramatic. A break of serve can swing odds massively.

Look for opportunities when a strong server gets broken early — they often break back immediately.

Medical timeouts and weather delays can disrupt rhythm and create value on the player who was in control.
